But only a couple of months until spring.

I have to say I don't miss the snow. I loved it when I was a kid, but as an adult snow just means slippery roads, shoveling sidewalks, and frozen pipes. I wish I could still look at the snow everyday the way I did when I was 10, instead of only when I get up to the mountain to ski.FDChiefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10607785969510234092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31246093.post-63339574235182025392011-01-22T08:24:24.481-07:002011-01-22T08:24:24.481-07:00"I have no idea of the actual statistics, but..."I have no idea of the actual statistics, but I'll bet that all the domestic crimes spike in the dark months. Suicide, murder, battery...they all seem less unthinkable when the cold rain spits in your face and the sky lours about your head like a bad mood."

Right on the mark, as usual, Chief. You can also add alcoholism and depression spiking to the list of sins of this time of the year.

I can make your life just slightly more bearable. International Falls, MN had an air temperature of -46 yesterday morning. We had a high temp of -2, cloudy all day (didn't know it could get that cold with clouds), AND an inch of snow during rush hour traffic.

Needless to say, we're not having a mild winter. We've had worse of course, but this winter we've had snow 37 of the last 47 days.

The piles of snow are getting scary tall and Minneapolis had to limit parking to just one side of the street because there wasn't any room for all the snow that's fallen.

This spring has the opportunity to be VERY damp if something doesn't change.Plutonoreply@blogger.com
