You wonder what the story is here. Mom kissing him goodbye? Stranger embracing stranger, hoping for kindness? Tactics, or pure emotion?Either way, I liked the contrast between the granny's emotion and the copper's emotionless expression.
I confess, my mind was in the gutter: My read was, mum sending him off. And seeing how frumpy babushkas oft times end up, and seeing how he's off into a brotherhood of strapping young men, well ... what will he choose when mating time comes?[Too much Monty Python, I'm afraid.]
