Wish I'd said it first...

I try not to go to the same well too often, but this was too lovely to pass up; more from Chas. Pierce, in this case on the House of Representatives as currently constituted:
"In 2010, the voters, in their infinite wisdom, visited upon the country the biggest bunch of fantasts, paranoids, and general whackaloons since the last time Glenn Beck dined alone."
Like the man or hate him, you just can't be indifferent to the quality of the man's invective.

Anarchy in the U.K.

“You’ve got that eternal idiotic idea that if anarchy came it would come from the poor. Why should it? The poor have been rebels, but they have never been anarchists; they have more interest than anyone else in there being some decent government. The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn’t; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all. Aristocrats were always anarchists.”

G.K. Chesterton
