Un dimanche après-midi à l'Parc des Donnezsur

Hmmm. I think I wanted to take a moment from all the angst and provide a post with no meaning beyond the sensual;
That, and every so often I take a genuinely good picture; I just love this snapshot of our Overlook Park on a sunny Sunday.

For all our troubles and toil, the world is often a lovely place. It is unfortunate that we are often to harried and busy to stop and notice that. I hope you have a moment today to do so.

Very nice -- it reminds me of a Seurat, or John Lavery.

Funny, I was just thinking of this line from Desiderata:

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

And it is.

Hence the title of the post; I thought of the famous picture from Grand Jatte...

And it is an amazing place, this old world. It seems a shame that we hairless monkeys seem content to gibber and fling our poo at one another rather than enjoy that.

But such is the Monkey Way, I fear...

I tell you, I am apart from it, a stranger in strange land, most of the time. I can take no pleasure from another's misfortune, have no desire to dissemble or spend time in idle chatter. It hurts my soul to confront any of it.

Yet it is the Monkey Way. Maybe that can be the title of my book: The Misfit Monkey :(

Or, perhaps you might be more akin to Tennyson's Lady:

"But in her web she still delights
To weave the mirror's magic sights,
For often thro' the silent nights
A funeral, with plumes and lights
And music, went to Camelot:
Or when the moon was overhead,
Came two young lovers lately wed;
"I am half-sick of shadows," said
The Lady of Shalott."
