Lisa: I love the original Ink Spots version from 1940, so cool and sly. For some reason this song has become shackled to the Manhatten Transfer, whose perky caucasian cover is the only one many people know. Sad. The original rules...and makes me want to have to steaming hot cup of joe!
I grew up listening to this stuff, as my mom is a great music fan of most genres. Duke Ellington, Ella, the Divine Sarah Vaughan, Cab Calloway -- I love them all! What spirit and soul. While I can listen to some technopop, it will never soothe like the Ink Spots. The latter is who you come home to.
