Even for the ingenuous Japanese, this is...unusual.Welcome to "Moonbell" a website that lets you play music based on the lunar topography data collected by Japan's Kaguya orbiter.I find this both fascinating and disturbingly typical of the sort of thing that many Japanese find fascinating too: the artfully crafted, cunningly devised artifact that is useful for precisely...nothing.

But pretty. In a looney sort of way.
