I served...

...in the wrong damn Army.

I worked with some fine female soldiers. Many of them were terrific people. Several of them were very physically attractive, as well. But never in my craziest dreams would I have described them as "better than professional model."

Let others make war; you, happy China, make gorgeous troopers better than professional model!

Let's not forget the Russians also:

I think it must be said that former communist countries knew a thing or two about women's uniforms...

I had in mind a better picture but could not google it up.

Ivanova: No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow.
What?! Look, somebody's got to have some damn perspective around here. Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM!

Guys: re: the uni, frankly, I'm amazed at how much the PLA's procurement people seem to have been channeling our 1970's U.S. Army. Complete down to the goofy hat, this is practically the AG-344 women's pantsuit.

On a woman with a normal sized butt, it looks like hell. This gal is like a size 0, so it looks fine.

Why do bad clothing ideas seem to go on forever?

basil: I've met some Kurdish women, and they are often truly striking; dark and strong-featured, much as I picture Alexander's bride Roxane.

But these gals look to me very like the typical run of female soldiers I remember. Nothing like the Chinese "professional model" woman.
